It just isn't natural for the library to be so empty, and we are excited to see all of our friends returning to this place we all love. To keep everyone safe, adequately distanced, and the library sanitized we have implemented some new temporary measures:
You may have seen Chris doing great things at Rupert's during these hard times, but McCall Library staff also enjoys having the Stewart family visit the library every week. This fun-loving father-daughter duo are always exploring new books, songs, and activities during Story Time with Miss Melody. Aiyana starts kindergarten in the fall and is well-prepared thanks in part to the early literacy she and her dad Chris have enjoyed together. Chris knows how important it is to keep reading in summer so kids maintain the weekly skills they gain in the crucial Pre-K years. We are so happy to be able to see them in person checking out fun new books at our curbside service and in the library during this trying time. Thanks, Chris and Aiyana!
New this year - Since we are unable to meet in groups right now, there is no limit to the number of participants! Encourage your friends to join you on your reading quests. Reading log options will be paper and online - choose what works for you!

Stop by the library and complete the 2020 census using our dedicated kiosk! Each of our communities and Valley County as a whole have increased our response rate by a few percentage points over the last few weeks – but we still have a lot of room to grow! We are still ranked #42 of 44 counties in Idaho for our Census response rate. Let’s get that number up! Responding to the Census takes less than 10 minutes and mean $1,483 per person in federal funding for Valley County.
Take the 2020 Census today at https://2020census.gov/. If you did not receive a questionnaire by mail, you can still respond online.
You DO NOT need a Unique Census ID to complete the online form.
