McCall Public Library Expansion

The first and second chapter of the library expansion project are complete.  
WE ARE OPEN!

 The project to build a new, state-of-the-art library to serve the community for the next 50 years and beyond, took approximately two years, and began with a ceremonial demolition of the old fire station. The building was removed to make room for the new structure that will front the existing library. Our team is now building the new library in front of the existing library and parking will be added on the east side. The entire project is completed!

Thanks to our City of McCall Voters and generous donors the library had expanded.

UPDATE

January 2025 

The renovation of the original library building is now complete and open to the public.  We now call it “Community Hall.”  It is connected to the library expansion and open the same as library hours. Crews were able to maintain original glue-lam wooden beams, woodwork and pillars, while also reinforcing structural capacity. The interior is completely refreshed and almost unrecognizable! It has energy efficient lighting, new restrooms, state of the art technology that can adapt to all kinds of meetings and other uses for the City of McCall and also for community groups. Please ask us for more information if you are interested in using the building after hours, or go here for more information: www.mccall.lili.org You are also invited to visit the current exhibit in the Library Gallery – a space that rotates cultural or artistic exhibits 4 times per year. Parking is available directly behind Community Hall, or in an adjacent  parking lot East of the Library. There is also some street parking on Park Street, and plenty of room for overflow parking in the lot behind City Hall.
