The McCall Public Works Department provides services and programs that affect the daily lives of everyone who live and work in McCall. Public Works in McCall consists of four main divisions: Engineering, Streets, and Water. McCall Public Works Department is dedicated to excellence, integrity, and stewardship. We enhance the safety, welfare, and livability of the community by providing and managing infrastructure and services for streets, water and wastewater utilities, and water and wastewater treatment. In order to accomplish this mission, Public Works has to anticipate, plan and provide exemplary public services and facilities that support the needs of our growing community in an efficient, customer-focused, and financially responsible manner. Public Works/Streets also promote short and long-range planning, maintenance, and capital improvement goals for maintaining and improving the public street system.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining fifty miles of city streets and parking lots; water treatment and distribution facilities; wastewater treatment and collections facilities; and the maintenance and repair of all city vehicles and equipment. Public Works employees are on call 24/7, 365 days each year to handle emergency call-outs for power outages, downed trees, street and stop light issues, snow removal, water main breaks, sewer main backups, hazardous spills and clean up, water and wastewater treatment issues. We also assist other city departments in community events such as Winter Carnival snow sculptures and parade, July 4th, and other events and venues. Public Works employees are the backbone of all of the City's infrastructure systems. Our employees are hard-working, highly qualified, and skilled in their field.
