Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Housing Program Planner in the Community and Economic Development Department. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning and administering local and affordable housing programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Housing Planner will oversee and coordinate various housing initiatives and projects to provide residents with access to safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options.

Examples of work:
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement local and affordable housing programs in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with relevant agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders to address housing needs and foster partnerships.
  • Oversee the execution of the McCall Area Local Housing Plan and other related plans and policies.
  • Work closely with the Community and Economic Development Director, demonstrating independent judgment and initiative.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient administration of housing programs, maintaining compliance with established procedures.
  • Actively engage in outreach and education efforts to inform the community about available housing programs and resources.
  • Monitor housing trends and demographics to inform decision-making and program adjustments.
  • Prepare and present reports on housing programs and initiatives to stakeholders and community groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in housing policy and/or program related roles.
  • Familiarity with public sector or non-profit housing programs, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong understanding of housing market trends and challenges.

Or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the described work.

Additional Position Requirement or Special Qualification:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Relevant certifications preferred, for example AICP.
  • The selected candidate must be able to pass a background check.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation range for this opportunity is $29.45 to $42.12 per hour; the hiring wage will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.
