Your feedback is valuable to the Council's decision, so mark your calendars for the Meet & Greet event on August 12th at the Glass House in McCall from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

City of McCall Announces Two Finalists for City Manager Position    

 

McCall, Idaho - July 25th, 2024 - The City of McCall is delighted to announce that, after a rigorous selection process, the City Council has chosen two outstanding candidates for the City Manager position. These individuals, with their wealth of experience and strong commitment to public service, are well-positioned to lead our community toward a future of continued success.

The community and public at large are invited to engage with these exceptional candidates during a Meet & Greet event on Monday, August 12th at the Glass House from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. An opportunity for feedback will be available and shared with McCall City Council as they make this important decision for McCall's future. 

Meet the Finalists (Alphabetical):


Forest Atkinson

Forest Atkinson offers over twenty years of experience in federal and local government, with expertise in team leadership, project management, policy formulation, strategic planning, and crisis management. He is adept at engaging stakeholders, supporting infrastructure investments, and navigating complex political landscapes.

  • Experience:
    • Urban Planner, San Francisco County Transportation Authority
    • Economic Counselor, U.S. Embassy in Peru
    • Deputy Director, Office of Sudan and South Sudan, U.S. State Department
    • Deputy Political-Economic Counselor, U.S. Embassy in Mozambique
    • Various roles in the U.S. State Department, including Consular Officer in Chengdu, China
  • Achievements: Led government efforts supporting U.S. companies in multi-million dollar infrastructure investments, managed a $100 million security assistance program, and led major initiatives in digital economy and cybersecurity.
  • Education & Affiliations: Bachelor’s in Physics from Reed College, Master of City Planning from UC Berkeley, fluent in Mandarin and Portuguese, proficient in Spanish, and recipient of numerous State Department awards.

 


 

Rose Beverly

Rose Beverly brings over nine years of executive-level public sector experience, excelling in policy development, utility oversight, customer service, budget creation, project management, strategic planning, public relations, and community outreach. Her career is defined by collaborative leadership and dedication to enhancing local government effectiveness.

  • Experience:
    • County Commissioner, Butte County, Idaho (2015-2020)
    • City Administrator, Aitkin, Minnesota (2020-2021)
    • City Administrator, Berea, Kentucky (2021-present)
  • Achievements: Managed budgets up to $31 million, led efforts to reclassify Craters of the Moon National Preserve, and reduced staff turnover while improving public communication and employee morale.
  • Education & Affiliations: Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Sociology from the University of Arizona Global, licensed real estate agent, certified medical assistant, member of the International City/County Management Association, and past member of Idaho’s Leadership in Nuclear Energy Commission.
