Snow Fun, Snow Safe!

Snow Fun, Snow Safe! ❄️👀

Hey, snow adventurers and parents! Snow days are magical, but safety makes them even better. Here’s how everyone can keep the fun worry-free:

For Kids:

  1. Avoid Danger Zones: Stay away from parking lots, driveways, and roads—cars and snowplows can’t always see you. Stick to open, traffic-free areas like yards, parks, or fields. 🚧❄️
  2. Buddy Up for Safety: Always keep one of you out of the snow pile to be the “safety spotter.” They’ll watch for cars, snowplows, and other surprises. 🚜👀
  3. Stay Bright and Visible: Wear bright colors so you’re easy to spot in the snow—be a colorful snow hero! 🌈
  4. Signal and Share: If you see anything risky, let your buddies know and move to a safe spot together.
  5. Check In with Adults: Always let a grown-up know where you’re playing so everyone can relax and enjoy the day.

For Parents:

  1. Assume Plows Can Come Anytime: If you’re unsure when the plow is coming, play it safe and assume it could be at any moment. Plows often make multiple trips, so stay ready and vigilant.
  2. Keep an Eye on Play Areas: Make sure kids are far from streets, driveways, or other areas where snow removal might occur.
  3. Talk About Safe Zones: Teach kids where it’s safe to play and where they should never build snow forts or hide.
  4. Be the Safety Backup: Check in regularly and remind kids to watch for plows, vehicles, and other hazards.
