Join us this Saturday, June 22nd, for the McCall Municipal Airport's Annual Open House Event and Fly-in!

Get ready for an action-packed day at the McCall Municipal Airport's Annual Open House on Saturday, June 22, from 9 am to 3 pm!

Explore over 20 vendors, listen to engaging speakers, and enjoy exciting displays and lessons from backcountry flying. Check out vintage and unique aircraft, including the stunning P-51 Mustang “Diamondback.” Treat yourself to mouth-watering food from Txo Txo’s Doghouse, refreshing drinks from Salmon River Brewery, and cool treats from Sandbar Shaved Ice. Join in raffles, take thrilling helicopter rides, and meet Kaya, the majestic red-tailed hawk from Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary.

Don't miss the spectacular recreation of the Great Idaho Beaver Drop! Win a stuffed skydiving beaver and a copy of Susan Wood's delightful children’s book, *The Skydiving Beavers, A True Tale*.

This year’s theme, “Return to the Wilderness,” celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the naming of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Enjoy an entertaining slideshow by Flyline Editor Crista Worthy, featuring over 100 historic photos that highlight aviation's vital role in Idaho’s backcountry. Grab a copy of her book, *Idaho Aviation*, an Idaho Aeronautical Chart, or an Idaho backcountry poster at the IAA booth. Don't forget to pick up the adorable event poster designed by McCall’s City Communications Manager, Erin Greaves.

Kids will love helicopter rides and tours of the USFS Smokejumpers' Twin Otter plane. Before the Beaver Drop at 11:15 am, kids can guess where the stuffed beaver will land for a chance to win prizes.

“I'm really excited this year because we have such a diverse range of community partners participating. It's a great chance to not only experience aviation but also learn more about the volunteer groups that make Valley County a great place to live,” Emily Hart, McCall Airport Manager.
